About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Interim Head of Human Resources to join our team at Connected Places Catapult. As a key member of our Corporate Executive Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in shaping our people strategy and ensuring the effective management of our HR operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • HR Operations Management: Lead the HR Operations team in delivering high-quality services, including employee relations, reward and benefits, HR systems, people metrics/reporting, and policies and practice.
  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that support our business objectives, including team structure and role changes, onboarding, reward strategy, performance management, and policies and practice.
  • Culture and Values: Ensure that our HR team supports and promotes our company culture and values, based on transparency and openness.
  • Project Management: Use planning tools to scope, implement, and communicate HR projects effectively.
  • Governance and Representation: Attend Corporate Executive Leadership Team meetings and contribute to company-wide decisions, bringing people best practice to the table.
  • Stakeholder Management: Represent the HR team professionally and with credibility, demonstrating confidence and skill to the leadership team, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Management Information: Provide timely and accurate company-wide management information, interpreting people data and analyzing predictive trends on staff turnover, absence, cost per hire, and other key metrics.
  • Employee Relations: Use expertise to counsel and oversee complex employee relations issues, ensuring effective people management practice and legal compliance.
  • Culture and Engagement: Contribute to making Connected Places Catapult an employer of choice, creating a positive working environment and engaged/inclusive culture.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Minimum CIPD Level 5 qualified with evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Experience: Similar level of responsibility held with team management and management/executive committee experience, including leading change activities, coaching people managers, and establishing credibility and building department accountability.
  • Skills: Proven ability in establishing credibility and building department accountability, problem-solving, and demonstrating operational HR skills, solid employment law knowledge, and outstanding communication skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Energised and motivated by constant change, with a focus on accuracy and quality of outputs.
