Opportunity Summary
We are excited to announce a pivotal role within the Cards Lab for a Product Owner who will spearhead the evolution of cloud-based data solutions, aligning with our strategic initiatives at Lloyds Technology Centre. This position is integral to enhancing our consumer banking data transformation efforts.

The Cards Platform is a collaborative environment where innovative minds unite to address genuine challenges faced by customers and colleagues alike. We seek an individual eager to cultivate thought leadership on data's impact within the Card sector, working alongside experienced product managers to drive initiatives from concept to execution in partnership with CDAO and Consumer Lending Data Optimisation teams.

We encourage applications from candidates with a technical background aspiring to transition into a Product Owner role, though this is not a prerequisite. The ability to pose insightful questions is essential for a successful PO, fostering personal growth and inspiring the team to approach problems with fresh perspectives.

Our lab is dedicated to facilitating responsible lending practices to aid Britain's recovery, and in this role, you will collaborate across the lab to achieve this mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Card Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) related to the advancement of data and analytics capabilities on GCP.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in Credit Card strategy to translate business and analytical needs into effective data solutions.
  • Enhance business performance and customer experience by identifying and addressing critical opportunity areas:
    • Performance insights, business processes, and treatment automation.
    • Leveraging advanced analytical tools such as ML and AI.
    • Transforming customer interactions with value-added, real-time services.
    • Supporting analyst performance and productivity.
    • Complementing broader modernization efforts, including risk transformation and API integration with FISERV.
    • Support foundational data activities encompassing profiling, cleansing, quality assurance, and validation, utilizing Collibra and strategic data products.
    • Collaborate with CDAO, Consumer Lending Data Optimisation, and the wider LBG data SME and architecture communities to establish a thought leadership position and an integrated change backlog.
    • Evolve the operating model.
    • Analyze market data regarding customers, competitors, and current opportunities to recommend informed and measurable strategies for business growth.
    • Identify data use cases to optimize data and business processes, reporting, dashboards, and analytics capabilities.

Required Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who...

  • Have demonstrable experience as a Product Owner utilizing Agile/Scrum methodologies to drive vision and outcomes, with a passion for applying transformation principles to foster continuous improvement.
  • Possess intermediate skills in GCP, SQL, and Collibra for Metadata Management.
  • Have a solid understanding of data delivery, data warehousing, and reporting, along with knowledge of GCP technology, data governance, quality, privacy, and controls within a large-scale organization.
  • Have experience in Backlog management, linking it with financial planning and cost control while maintaining a track record of budget adherence.
  • Are data-driven, employing evidence-based decision-making to articulate rationale.
  • Exhibit curiosity and a desire to learn new skills and agile methodologies.
  • Inspire others with enthusiasm and a collaborative spirit.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working as a data product owner and related responsibilities.
  • Ability to influence without authority, fostering trust and empowerment within the team.
  • Bring innovative ideas and challenge conventional thinking to help shape the future of banking.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, capable of simplifying complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences, and building effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrate passion, a proactive attitude, and an open mindset to explore new methodologies while enhancing personal skills and experience.
