Job Overview

We are pleased to announce a part-time opportunity for a Band 6 Imaging Specialist to join our Community Imaging Division on a one-year contract. We are looking for a skilled radiographer with substantial experience who is eager to contribute positively to the ongoing success and development of our department while supporting our commitment to a 7-day service.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Community Imaging Division, providing exceptional support at our facilities. You may also be required to rotate among various community hospital locations as necessary.

Our Community Imaging Division offers a comprehensive X-Ray service available seven days a week, catering to various patient needs including those from minor injury units and outpatient referrals.

Role Responsibilities

Primary Objective of the Position:

To function as a vital member of the imaging team, delivering a thorough and effective diagnostic radiographic service while undertaking responsibilities aligned with a senior role.

To foster an environment that promotes optimal patient care.

To perform advanced clinical tasks, providing guidance and support while participating in the training of Trainee Assistant Practitioners and Student Radiographers, and mentoring newly qualified professionals.

To independently evaluate each patient and modify radiographic techniques based on individual patient needs.

To apply professional judgment and expertise to ensure that clinical practices are conducted within the legal framework and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements:

  • BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent in Radiography
  • State Registered Radiographer
  • Relevant postgraduate experience
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience managing workloads in a dynamic department
  • Solid understanding of the NHS framework
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in Radiography

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in Minor Injury or Emergency Department settings

Desirable:

  • Completion of the Red Dot Course
