Job Overview

We are pleased to announce a part-time opportunity for a Band 6 Imaging Specialist to join our Community Imaging Division on a contractual basis. We are looking for a dedicated professional with substantial imaging experience who is eager to contribute positively to the operational success and future advancements of our department, particularly in supporting our 7-day service.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the Community Imaging Division, providing essential support at our facilities, collaborating with the team to ensure high-quality patient care. There may be a requirement to rotate among various community hospital locations as necessary.

Our department is committed to offering a 7-day-a-week X-Ray service for various needs, including minor injuries, hospital wards, and outpatient referrals.

Job Duties

Primary Objectives of the Role:

- Collaborate as part of the imaging team to provide a thorough and effective diagnostic imaging service, undertaking responsibilities aligned with a senior role.

- Foster an environment that prioritizes optimal patient care.

- Engage in advanced clinical tasks, offering guidance, supervision, and support while participating in the training of Trainee Assistant Practitioners and Student Radiographers, as well as mentoring newly qualified staff.

- Conduct independent assessments of patients and tailor imaging techniques to meet individual patient needs.

- Utilize professional judgment and expertise to ensure that clinical practices are executed within legal and professional standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent in Radiography
  • State Registration as a Radiographer
  • Relevant postgraduate experience
  • Active CPD portfolio

Desirable:

  • Proven ability to manage workloads in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of the NHS framework.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in Radiography.

Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience in Minor Injury or Emergency Department settings.

Desirable:

  • Completion of the Red Dot Course.
