Job Overview

Spencer Ogden is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Automation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Operational Technology Team, you will play a critical role in delivering upper quartile performance for wind generation assets.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an expert in control and instrumentation and SCADA systems, with particular experience in the control and automation of electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe maintenance of control and instrumentation system hardware and software, and the development and integration of new solutions to deliver remote asset supervision and control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain control and instrumentation systems for electrical infrastructure
  • Develop and integrate new solutions for remote asset supervision and control
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery of wind generation assets
  • Provide technical expertise and support to ensure compliance with industry-specific cyber security requirements
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of PLC operation, programming, and management
  • Expert knowledge of communication protocols used in SCADA systems in the electricity generation industry
  • Knowledge of wind farm internal network topology, design, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of industry-specific cyber security requirements
  • Working knowledge of safety legislation specific to the electricity generation industry
  • Understanding of O&M contracts and technical scope
  • Confident and articulate communicator with the ability to explain complex engineering problems in non-technical language
