About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Wells & Co. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of food quality and presentation are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Production and Quality Control
    • Work closely with our Head Chef to effectively control stock and food costs, and identify opportunities to maximise profitability
    • Responsible for all food production, ensuring that food is prepared to an exemplary standard
  • Hygiene and Health and Safety
    • Overall accountability for hygiene and health and safety within the kitchen
    • Ensure that all team members are fully trained and aware of how food is stored, rotated and disposed of, and monitor their adherence
  • Team Management and Development
    • Responsible for the recruitment, training, coaching and development of the kitchen team to ensure the delivery of excellent food quality and guest satisfaction
    • Train and coach the front of house team to ensure that they have a good knowledge of all menu items, to deliver exceptional guest service
  • Administrative and Financial Management
    • Complete daily and weekly stock checks, and ensure that all invoices are processed daily and accounted for
    • Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed, including Food Safety and Health & Safety checks
Requirements
  • Minimum 18 months experience as Sous Chef in a busy food operation, with a passion for food quality and a proven track record of delivering excellent standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership qualities, including motivating your team through regular and engaging team meetings and briefs
  • A role model and a vision to inspire the kitchen team, with a desire to develop your career with a well-known and expanding company
