Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our team at The Ivy Oxford Brasserie. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of our dishes, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of the kitchen team, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes, working closely with the Executive Chef and other members of the kitchen team.
  • Monitor and control kitchen inventory, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that waste is minimized.
  • Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed, and that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory control, and food safety.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
