About the Role

Aldermore Bank PLC is seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Management Analyst to join our Portfolio Management team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting complex data to recommend solutions to the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Analysis: Use portfolio metrics, financial data, KPIs, and trends to measure credit and business performance, informing a customer-centric approach to credit decisions.
  • Credit Lending Criteria: Review and refine credit lending criteria to enhance risk management practices.
  • Emerging Risks: Work closely with the second line to identify emerging credit and macroeconomic risks.
  • Market Dynamics: Understand market dynamics driving changes in vehicle valuations and make proactive adjustments in response to changes in the long-term outlook.
  • Portfolio Performance: Monitor the performance of the Motor portfolio, identifying and acting upon changes to key assumptions, including margin, expected and actual credit loss, default rates, run rates, and settlement experience.
  • Data Analysis: Extract, manipulate, and analyze complex data sets using reporting tools to identify patterns, anomalies, correlations, and meaningful insights, generating reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
  • Credit Risk Management: Understanding of best practice in credit risk management and credit scoring methods.
  • Education and Experience: Degree in a numerate subject and proven relevant work experience, coupled with knowledge of advanced statistical and analytical techniques.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in SAS is preferable, but R or other programming languages are also acceptable.
  • Communication: Effective communicator, sharing insight that translates technical concepts into clear and understandable language, listening to and encouraging active collaboration amongst stakeholders.
  • Credit Risk Application Models: Experience of developing credit risk application models is desirable.
  • Data Visualization: Experience of creating dashboards in data visualization tools such as Tableau is also desirable.
