Financial Affairs Officer

Job Summary:
Hatched Recruitment Group is seeking a highly skilled Financial Affairs Officer to join our team in the Community Services department. As a key member of the Client Affairs Team, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive financial affairs function for vulnerable adults who lack the capacity to manage their own finances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of less complex appointeeship/deputyship cases, ensuring efficient and effective provision of financial services.
- Process financial matters related to direct payment third party arrangements, including disbursements, payroll, and account reconciliations.
- Make applications to the Court of Protection for appointments of deputies for property and affairs, in accordance with statutory requirements and council policies.
- Communicate effectively with staff, external agencies, and service users to provide clear and concise information and advice.
- Prioritize conflicting demands and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Requirements:
- Clear understanding of appointeeship and deputyship legislative framework.
- Knowledge of accountancy practices in relation to managing the financial affairs of vulnerable adults.
- Qualification in Business and Finance or AAT or equivalent administration and finance experience.
- Experience of working in a local government financial environment.
- Experience of dealing with service user finances, receipting, and making payments.
