Role Overview
As the Head of Audit and Risk Oversight, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the integrity of the services we provide to the community and society at large.

Position Details
This position is for a non-executive member of the board, tasked with leading the Audit and Risk Oversight Committee.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the committee fulfills its obligations, which include:

  • Providing guidance on risk management and assurance practices.
  • Overseeing internal controls and evaluating the reliability of reports from both internal and external audits.

Collaboration is key; you will need to work closely with the Board, the Executive Group, and, when necessary, communicate with legal officers to ensure that audit and risk matters are properly understood and addressed.

As the Chair, your role will also involve facilitating effective contributions from fellow non-executive members of the Audit and Risk Oversight Committee.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of public sector governance, along with substantial experience in financial oversight, risk management, and audit processes.

You are expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Crown Prosecution Service and its critical function within the broader criminal justice framework.

Building and nurturing productive relationships with stakeholders both within and outside the organization will be essential to your success.
