About Our Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Safeguarding team at Achieving for Children. As a Social Worker - Safeguarding Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting children and young people who are subject to Child Protection plans and Child in Need plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting children and young people in need, including those subject to Child Protection plans and Child in Need plans
  • Building strong and respectful working relationships with families, their support network, and partner agencies
  • Conducting regular assessments, writing reports, and chairing meetings in line with our policies and procedures
  • Ensuring children and young people are actively involved in our work and their voice is captured in our case recording
  • Participating in reflective supervision and group supervision to ensure high-quality practice

About You

  • You will be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • You will be a resilient worker, able to work effectively in a team or on your own, taking ownership and responsibility for the cases you are assigned
  • You will be confident and competent in relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks and have knowledge of an appropriate range of professional interventions
  • You will be able to champion inclusion and diversity, making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people
  • You will be a solution-focused person with the ability to deal with sensitive issues
