The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriter to join our Lloyd's wholesale operation, Chubb Global Markets. As a key member of our Marine Cargo team, you will be responsible for handling a diverse product mix through new business and renewals in a face-to-face and online trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite new business or renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget, and local business plan.
  • Ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews, running regular meetings, and peer reviews.
  • Assist in the development of products within area of specialist expertise to improve client retention and new business.
  • Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal, and external clients.
  • Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business, and compliance issues.
  • Represent and promote Chubb and maintain a permanent contact with internal colleagues and clients as well as major clients.
Requirements:
  • Underwriting experience gained across Marine/Cargo products lines.
  • Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of Corporate or Lloyd's Underwriting, the insurance market, and competitors.
  • Proven experience of taking care of brokers and clients.
  • Results-driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
  • ACII preferred but not essential.
  • Continues to develop technical and broader business skills.
