Job Description:

Overview:

As a Quality Control Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for undertaking vital tests that support the production process of world-leading medical products. You will also provide technical support to new product development, research, and ensure that quality procedures are being adhered to.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To execute protocols and generate reports as required, supporting QC Analytical.
  • To prepare in-house reagents for QC Analytical.
  • To promote and uphold Quality requirements within Manufacturing and other departments as required, supporting QC Analytical.
  • To take responsibility for organizing the workload through the laboratory, with due regard to safety, accuracy, and ensuring minimal delay and appropriate prioritization of samples.
  • To input data into appropriate spreadsheets and databases.
  • To book in laboratory chemicals and reagents.
  • To maintain the laboratory housekeeping and wash glassware.
  • To ensure all testing done is carried out to the Laboratory's standard operating procedures.
  • To ensure all data generated is managed through the laboratory smoothly and contains all the information necessary to allow a true and accurate interpretation of results.
  • To raise laboratory investigations when required.
  • To order and restock equipment for all QC Analytical tests.
  • To check and counter-sign others' work.
  • To support other QC functions as required, including Receive/Inspection and Product Release.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • HNC in Chemistry or relevant subject is desired but not essential.
  • Previous laboratory experience is essential.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate relevant testing instruments.
  • Ability to analyze test results and present a report.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility in work scheduling and business needs.
  • Good communication skills; written, verbal, and presenting.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environment.
  • Must be computer literate, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Lotus Notes, ERP systems.
  • AAS experience is an advantage.

Salary & Benefits:

£26,000 - £30,000 per annum
