Job Title: Head of Fire Safety

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety professional to join our client's team as Head of Fire Safety. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a proactive and holistic fire safety approach across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fire safety strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on fire safety matters to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize fire-related risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure fire safety is integrated into all aspects of the organization's operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with national and international fire-related legislation, technologies, and best practices.
  • Lead and manage the Fire Safety Team to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including fire authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and standards.
Requirements:
  • Chartered status with a relevant Institution.
  • At least 15 years' experience in a fire engineering, fire research, or related discipline role.
  • Proven experience in applying engineering methods to safety, including risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations and standards, including F+P procedures and guidelines.
Desirable:
  • Experience in the use of advanced engineering methods, such as CFD-based modeling and FEA analysis.
  • Experience with data analysis and automation using tools like Matlab, Python, or R.
  • Strong network within the fire science and fire engineering community.
