We are partnering with a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to support the appointment of a Senior Youth Work Specialist, on a 5-month contract, with potential for extension. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £31.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • To contribute to the development of a borough-wide Youth Work Strategy and Delivery Model, ensuring effective implementation and evaluation in universal safe spaces.
  • To lead Youth Sports Coaches in delivering sports and physical sessions for young people, promoting engagement and inclusion.
  • To implement operational rotas, ensuring sufficient staffing in compliance with minimum staffing ratios, and collaborating with the Young Tower Hamlets leadership team to ensure adequate staffing at a borough-wide level.
  • To plan year-round programme plans with Youth Sports Coaches, Youth Support Workers, and Volunteers, ensuring varied and responsive programming that meets the needs of young people.
  • To design and implement sports and physical sessions that actively engage vulnerable young people, including those with special educational needs or disabilities, and those vulnerable to exploitation.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in youth work, youth justice, probation, or social work (SWE registered).
  • Experience in delivering universal provision for young people, with a lead role in a range of settings.
  • Experience in line managing staff and/or volunteers, with a focus on delivering services in an inner urban area with complex social needs.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to safeguard and support young people.
  • Experience in developing project bids and securing external funding, with a focus on managing budgets and evaluating quality of practice.

  • You should have the right to work in the U.K.
  • This role requires a Basic DBS.
