Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Retail Merchandiser and Product Manager to join our team at our head office in the Lake District. As a key member of our merchandising team, you will be responsible for planning and managing our product ranges, ensuring that our stores and website are stocked with the right products at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
- Range Planning
- Plan and manage product ranges to meet sales and profit targets
- Monitor and analyze sales data to inform product range decisions
- Product Management
- Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate best prices and delivery terms
- Coordinate the distribution of stock and ensure timely delivery to stores
- Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate product range plans to visual merchandising, retail, stock, and e-commerce teams
- Work closely with the finance director to forecast profits and plan budgets
- Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze sales data and report on product performance at weekly buying and merchandising meetings
- Identify best-selling and slow-selling products and develop strategies to optimize sales
Requirements
- Previous experience in merchandising and/or retail/business management
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, including proficiency in Excel
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work well in a team
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand what will appeal to customers
