Job Title: Retail Merchandiser

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Retail Merchandiser to join our team at Wheelbase Cycles. As a key member of our buying team, you will be responsible for planning and monitoring the performance of our products, ensuring they are available in the right stores and online, at the right time, in the right quantities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage product ranges, including setting prices, managing performance, and planning promotions and markdowns.
  • Meet with suppliers to negotiate best cost prices, order stock, agree on timescales and delivery dates, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Communicate product range plans to our Visual Merchandiser, Retail, Stock, and eCommerce teams.
  • Work with the Finance Director to forecast profits, sales, and plan budgets to control stock levels.
  • Maintain a comprehensive portfolio of range plan data.
  • Analyze sales data and report on product performance at weekly Buying and Merchandising meetings.
  • Plan promotions with the Marketing team and issue markdowns.
  • Maintain awareness of competitors' performance and market trends.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in merchandising and/or retail/business management.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand what will appeal to customers.
