Job Description

Job Title: Vocational/Multi Skilled Instructor - Construction

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vocational/Multi Skilled Instructor to join our team at Serco. As a Vocational/Multi Skilled Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and education to prisoners in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver vocational training and education to prisoners in the construction industry, including construction skills, health and safety, and employability skills.
  • Develop and deliver training programs that meet the needs of prisoners and the requirements of the prison.
  • Assess and evaluate prisoner progress and provide feedback and guidance to support their learning.
  • Work with other prison staff to ensure that prisoners are engaged in purposeful activity and are making progress towards their rehabilitation goals.
  • Contribute to the development of the prison's education and training program, including identifying areas for improvement and suggesting new initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of prisoner progress and training delivery.
  • Collaborate with other prison staff to ensure that prisoners are receiving the support and guidance they need to succeed.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in the construction industry, including teaching and training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with prisoners, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training programs that meet the needs of prisoners and the requirements of the prison.
  • Experience of working in a prison or secure environment, or a similar setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work.
  • Good IT skills, including the ability to use learning management systems and other digital tools.
