About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Pharmacy Stores Assistant to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). As a Pharmacy Stores Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the technical staff in our stores area, ensuring the efficient running of the department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Liaise with other Assistant(s) to provide support of technical staff in order to maintain efficient running of the Pharmacy and other Departments and wards of the Hospital.
  • Undertake "top-up" of medicines to departments and wards of the hospital.
  • Dispensing of routine prescriptions.
  • Undertake telephone answering and receptionist duties within the department.
  • Process and fill requisitions from departments and wards.
  • Receive, check, computerise and store medicines upon delivery from suppliers.
  • Return suitable unused, issued medicines to stock for subsequent re-issue
  • Undertake distribution duties to departments and wards as necessary.
  • Use and maintain robot software and hardware in line with SOPs.
  • Check pharmacy stock to ensure suitability of medicines for issue.
  • Maintain the department in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Undertake "top-up" of BOC Gases.
  • To be involved with general ordering and ordering-related queries.
  • Gain an understanding of the automated dispensing Robot.
  • Maintain stock rotation.
  • Routine medication expiry checks.
  • Assisting in the delivery and distribution of IV fluids
