About the Role

Gordon Murray Advanced Engineering stands at the forefront of automotive innovation, renowned for our commitment to creating lightweight and efficient vehicles. As a key member of our Programme Management team, the Project Manager will play a vital role in overseeing various project-related tasks, ensuring seamless execution from conception through to production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Programme Planning: Drive the planning efforts within the Programme function, collaborating with functional planning roles to ensure alignment and effective management of critical paths and timing risks.
  • Facilitate Engineering Schedules: Conduct regular review sessions with Project Engineering teams to manage the Engineering Timing Release Schedule.
  • Support Change Control: Assist Concept and Engineering teams in maintaining adherence to the Vehicle Technical Specification through effective change control.
  • Financial Oversight: Collaborate with Programme Managers to monitor spending and ensure project activities remain within budgetary constraints.
  • Documentation Management: Lead project teams in completing and maintaining necessary documentation and planning activities aligned with project requirements.
  • Progress Monitoring: Support Programme Managers during major project reviews and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
  • Bill of Materials Management: Work with functional teams to ensure accuracy in cost, weight, and timing information.
  • Risk Management: Monitor programme variations and highlight risks that may impact project timelines, budgets, or quality.
  • Technical Coordination: Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Programme Managers to meet technical targets and budgetary requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and assist in the development of Programme Management processes and documentation.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Proven experience in project management within the automotive or motorsport sectors.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to influence and negotiate across various business functions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office365 suite, including Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Word.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong ability to drive projects forward.
  • Professional demeanor, comfortable engaging with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on delivering results.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
