Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for two skilled radiographers possessing a UK-recognized mammography qualification to become integral members of our supportive clinical training team, as well as the broader multi-disciplinary team. Candidates should have current experience in mammography and hold registration with the Health Care Professions Council. A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle are mandatory.

The Nottingham International Breast Education Centre (NIBEC) stands as a premier training facility in the UK, with a significant proportion of professionals engaged in screening and symptomatic breast services having participated in our programs.

In this role, you will be tasked with delivering high-quality practical training in mammography, preparing, conducting, and evaluating academic course elements, while upholding the esteemed reputation of NIBEC. Our offerings include a variety of postgraduate modules, study days, and an associate practitioner apprenticeship. You will perform mammographic imaging to a high standard, utilizing advanced imaging techniques, and will train diverse groups of individuals alongside clinical duties at various sites.

  • Deliver practical mammography training to Radiographers and Assistant/Associate Practitioners from both the UK and international backgrounds.
  • Evaluate the clinical work of trainee Mammographers, both on-site and at their respective bases.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of mammography courses at NIBEC.
  • Contribute to the theoretical assessment of students enrolled in NIBEC courses.
  • Guide and mentor assistant/associate practitioners and junior radiography staff, advising management on training needs to ensure mammography standards are upheld.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning within the department.
  • Conduct mammography examinations on both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients at various locations, maintaining high standards.
  • Utilize specialized mammography techniques, including stereotactic localization, digital breast tomosynthesis, and contrast-enhanced spectral mammography.
  • Organize and prioritize your workload to ensure efficient service and clinic operations alongside training responsibilities.
  • Provide exemplary patient care and communication throughout all interactions.

About Our Organization

The Nottingham Breast Institute offers outpatient services for symptomatic cases and conducts breast screening for a population exceeding 100,000 women across multiple sites. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of advanced practitioners, radiographers, and assistant/associate practitioners in both screening and symptomatic mammography, contributing to various clinics focused on family history, breast cancer surveillance, and screening assessments.
