Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Control Systems Technician to join our team at Thames Water. This role is essential for the operation and upkeep of our extensive network of waste pumping stations, ensuring that we deliver vital services to our communities and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and addressing urgent repairs on various equipment.
  • Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team, including systems, mechanical, and electrical specialists.
  • Installing, modifying, and commissioning new equipment in accordance with industry standards while diagnosing and rectifying faults in systems.
  • Conducting thorough investigations into equipment failures and implementing repairs efficiently.
  • Providing expert technical guidance based on current knowledge and best practices.

What We Expect:
  • Proficiency with PLCs, SCADA systems, and communication networks.
  • Experience with variable speed drives and various motor starting techniques.
  • Relevant qualifications such as HNC or equivalent in instrumentation, control, and automation.
  • Possession of 18th Edition (BS7671) certification and knowledge of three-phase electrical systems is preferred.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and maintain physical fitness.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to fault resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding service with a positive attitude.
  • Team-oriented mindset, recognizing the importance of collective goals.
  • Initiative to recommend and implement improvements on-site.
