Infrastructure Engineer Job Description

A well-established organisation based in Camberley is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. This newly created role would be ideal for candidates who have previously worked in IT Support, Network Engineering, or Network Management.

This is a site-based position, with no hybrid or remote working options. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 29 days holiday, BUPA Health and Wellbeing Cash Plan, a generous pension scheme, and discounted gym membership.

As the Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for optimising network performance and delivering IT support services to users across the organisation. You will also play a key role in supporting the delivery of major upgrades to the core network infrastructure and cloud transformation, and contribute to the development of long-term strategy in this area.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing 2nd and 3rd line support to internal and external users.
  2. Managing the helpdesk system, allocating jobs to technicians.
  3. Installing, configuring, and maintaining IT equipment.
  4. Maintaining the network, including Wi-Fi and configuring switches.
  5. Managing user access, including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Azure.
  6. Firewall management (CISCO and HP).
  7. Server configurations (Windows 2012 R2 and 2016).

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and possess skills in Office 365, SharePoint, virtual environments (VMWare and Hyper-V), printer solutions (Papercut MF), anti-virus solutions including Sophos, VOIP telephone systems, and CCTV and access control systems.

The salary on offer is up to £36,000 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
