About the Role

At Smithers, we are seeking a talented and inquisitive graduate to join our strategic consultancy team as a Graduate Consulting Analyst. Our consultancy team provides credible, robust market data and forecasts to support business strategies for companies in various industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and analysis to quantify and estimate market sizes, identify key players and market shares, and identify market trends.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and consistent statistics.
  • Create what-if financial and market sizing models to support business strategies.
  • Format and devise market research surveys to gather valuable insights.
  • Write high-quality commentary on research conducted, including key learnings and implications.
  • Develop graphical representations of data, analyses, and learnings to effectively communicate findings.
  • Present and defend research and modeling results to stakeholders.
  • Define approach and develop costing and pricing estimates for quantitative elements of proposals.
  • Maintain, update, and expand Smithers' internal market databases, generating data and scenarios using statistical and economic models for reports and consulting projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in market sizing is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate logically, succinctly, precisely, and clearly in written and verbal form.
  • Data translation and analysis using Excel functionality.
  • Familiarity with industry and market analysis frameworks, such as Porter's Five Forces.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Any experience with the packaging and/or print industries is also advantageous.
