Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist - Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Jupiter Recruitment. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for managing complex cases, cultural and linguistic differences, and generating strategies to support individuals with communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat individuals with communication and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
  • Conduct assessments and gather information regarding service users' mental capacity and ability to give informed consent
  • Assist service users to maximize their independence in decision-making and communicating their wishes

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy or related field
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience working with individuals with complex communication and swallowing disorders
  • Strong clinical knowledge and skills in adult neuro-rehabilitation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a low secure unit setting
  • Experience managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of Dysphagia
  • Experience working with families and carers
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Speech and Language Therapy
