About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Consultant to join our multidisciplinary team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our stroke services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, including hyper-acute, acute, and rehabilitation care, to patients with stroke and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including clinical nurse specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, dietitians, and speech and language therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based stroke care pathways and protocols to improve patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Participate in education and training programs to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement research projects and studies to improve stroke care.
Requirements
  • MRCP/FRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Training to a level commensurate with the award of CCT or within six months of CCT.
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for General Medicine/Geriatrics.
  • Ability to work at consultant level in Stroke Medicine, including thrombolysis.
  • Broad-based stroke medicine experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
