Main ResponsibilitiesAssist the Outpatient department Manager and Matron in delivering an efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality service while ensuring adherence to best practices in line with organizational policies and procedures.
Assume responsibility for the Outpatient department in the absence of the Manager or as required.
Work independently to conduct comprehensive assessments and examinations to implement management plans for patients in specialty nurse-led clinics.
Support the management and organization of the Outpatient departments.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the outpatient department.
Lead and coordinate a team to ensure the provision of effective nursing care to patients and their families, reflecting the values of the organization.
Engage in the supervision, assessment, and development of staff and students through performance reviews, clinical supervision, and teaching in various settings, acting as a resource for education and development within the service.
Serve as a role model, promoting excellence in practice.
Utilize specialized knowledge and skills to deliver healthcare to patients attending the Outpatient department and spearhead the development of new and existing nurse-led services and clinics.

Promote and facilitate a patient-centered approach to care, setting, monitoring, and maintaining nursing care standards.

Provide complex wound care and dressings, demonstrating current evidence-based practices in nurse-led clinics and at the request of specialty clinicians.

Utilize nursing research findings to optimize high-quality, evidence-based care and disseminate relevant information to staff.

Person SpecificationQualifications
- 1st level registration currently registered with NMC
- Basic management course/BTEC or equivalent

- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Outpatients department at a previous grade or in an acute setting.
- Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience.
