Job Title: Apprentice Customer Support Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Customer Support Engineer to join our team at PerkinElmer. As a key member of our Customer Service Department, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer support and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide field service and routine maintenance to customers, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of technical issues.
  • Deliver onsite user training on defined product groups, empowering customers to get the most out of our instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager to perform service on behalf of PerkinElmer overseas offices, maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation, including circuit diagrams, Service Data Bulletins, and manuals, to support service activities.
  • Align personal working practices with departmental performance targets, actively contributing to team success.
  • Maintain accurate records of service spares, inventory, and tool calibration, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Return completed service documentation, reports, and other relevant materials on a regular basis.
Requirements:
  • HND or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Science, or a Biotechnology discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a related Field Service role or Laboratory environment.
  • Valid driving license.
Preferred Characteristics:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers and colleagues at all levels.
  • Negotiating and influencing skills, with a strong understanding of customer service principles.
