Position Overview:

This role is an integral part of the Young People's Housing Related Support Service, focusing on delivering essential support to young individuals facing housing challenges. The service aims to prevent homelessness through a variety of interventions, including supported housing and pre- and post-tenancy assistance for young people, including those transitioning from care and unaccompanied asylum seekers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adopt a trauma-informed approach to engage with young individuals, addressing behavioral challenges while celebrating their achievements.
  • Foster positive, professional relationships with young people, guiding them towards community opportunities outlined in their support plans, such as educational and recreational activities.
  • Provide emotional support to enhance motivation, aspirations, and self-confidence among young individuals.
  • Facilitate the development of essential life skills, including domestic management, parenting, and social interaction, to empower young people in maintaining their tenancies.
  • Assist in exploring various housing options, including the completion of housing applications and supporting young individuals during assessments.
