Brackenberry Ltd is collaborating with a Local Authority to recruit a Planning Officer for a 3-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension based on client needs. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their CVs for consideration.

Compensation: £23.88 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance personal skill sets to undertake a broader range of responsibilities and pursue necessary training or academic qualifications.
  • Ensure that all advice and recommendations align with the Council's planning policies, standards, and applicable Government regulations.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of service delivery by developing and implementing best practices while maintaining customer-focused standards in a regulatory context.
  • Engage in collaborative consultations with colleagues to ensure compliance with planning policies and relevant legislation.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality services by fostering best practices and customer-centric approaches.

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in Town Planning or a related field that supports RTPI membership or a graduate qualification in a similar discipline.
  • Willingness to attend meetings or perform duties outside of standard working hours, including evening engagements.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in delivering services to clients and being accountable for those services.
  • Familiarity with complex development management tasks, particularly in urban settings.
  • Experience in negotiating legal agreements related to planning applications.
  • Proven ability to respond to inquiries from Members.

Additional Notes:

  • Immediate availability or short notice readiness is essential.
  • Right to work in the U.K. is required.
