About Us
Bench Architects is a Peak District-based architectural practice that offers a unique blend of experience in conserving historic buildings and creating award-winning, contemporary designs, including a 2024 Civic Trust Conservation Award.
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Part 3 qualified Architect to support our increasing workload. Previous experience in working on historic buildings or conservation projects is desirable.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be committed to the practice, helping us to continue growing by providing excellent architectural services to our strong client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under Associate/Directors on larger projects and independently manage smaller jobs.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders within each project.
- Contribute to a diverse range of projects, including listed historic buildings, country houses, churches, municipal, and public buildings.
Requirements
- RIBA part III qualified (we consider applications from experienced Part II's with excellent working knowledge of Conservation/Historical Buildings repair).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, with additional skills in 3D modelling and rendering an advantage.
- Good construction technical detailing skills.
- Sound knowledge of UK Building Regulations Approved Documents & Planning Policy and Legislation.
- Experience of all RIBA Plan of Work stages.
- Self-motivated, organized, and an enthusiastic team player.
- Live within a commutable distance and hold a valid UK driving license.
- Be a UK resident or hold an appropriate work permit.
