Join Our Team as a Talented Architect

Bench Architects is a Peak District-based architectural practice that offers a unique blend of experience in conserving historic buildings and creating award-winning, contemporary designs.

We are seeking a skilled Part 3 qualified Architect to support our increasing workload and contribute to the growth of our practice. Previous experience in working on historic buildings or conservation projects is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be committed to the practice and will work under the guidance of Associate/Directors on larger projects, while also having the opportunity to run smaller jobs independently and communicate with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • RIBA Part III qualified (we consider applications from experienced Part II's with excellent working knowledge of Conservation/Historical Buildings repair)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, with additional skills in 3D modelling and rendering an advantage
  • Good construction technical detailing skills
  • Sound knowledge of UK Building Regulations Approved Documents & Planning Policy and Legislation
  • Experience of all RIBA Plan of Work stages
  • Self-motivated, organised, and an enthusiastic team player
  • Live within a commutable distance and hold a valid UK driving licence
  • UK resident or hold an appropriate work permit
