Arboricultural Consultant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Arboricultural Consultant to join our team at Derbyshire County Council. As a Woodland Creation Advisor, you will play a key role in leading the development of woodland creation projects across the Heartwood Community Forest area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of woodland creation projects, working with landowners, local authorities, businesses, and communities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and secure funding opportunities for woodland creation initiatives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key partners, including landowners, conservation organizations, and community groups.
• Conduct site assessments and provide expert advice on woodland creation and management.
• Develop and implement woodland creation plans, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree or equivalent in forestry, nature conservation, ecology, landscape design, or similar disciplines.
• Proven experience in woodland creation, forestry maintenance, and management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of autonomy and initiative.
