About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our thriving Court of Protection Team at Fletchers Solicitors. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support to clients who have personal injury or clinical negligence claims involving the management of substantial compensation awards.

As a Solicitor in our Court of Protection Team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of cases, including deputyship and trustee matters, and will be responsible for managing your own caseload, supervising junior fee earners, and providing technical support to the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing your own caseload of deputyship and trustee matters, including preparing accurate accounts and forecasts of expenditure.
  • Attending clients at their home, or in hospital or in care/nursing homes, to discuss and agree budgets and identify other priorities.
  • Liaising with financial advisors on investments and preparing applications for statutory wills, gifts, and other associated applications to the Court of Protection.
  • Delegating and supervising tasks to junior team members, including regular meetings and appraisals.
  • Contribute to regular team meetings and training sessions, and actively engage in business development plans.
Requirements

We are looking for a Solicitor with a minimum of 4 years PQE in Court of Protection property and affairs work, including experience of setting up and running PI trusts. You will also need strong empathetic interpersonal skills, a high degree of professionalism, and a commitment to achieving our clients' goals.

In addition, you will need strong leadership skills, the ability to lead and manage a growing team in line with company budgets and departments KPIs, and an enthusiasm for team building and raising the internal and external profile of the team.
