About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our Court of Protection Team at Fletchers Solicitors. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to clients who have personal injury or clinical negligence claims involving substantial compensation awards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of Deputyship and Trustee matters, including pre and post-settlement of PI claims, while supervising junior fee earners and providing technical support to the team.
  • Attend clients at their homes, hospitals, or care/nursing homes to discuss and agree budgets and identify other priorities.
  • Liaise with financial advisors on investments and prepare accurate accounts of Deputyship cases, including forecasts of expenditure.
  • Manage Deputyship applications and other associated applications to the Court of Protection, delegating tasks to junior team members as needed.
  • Contribute to regular team meetings and training sessions, actively engaging in business development plans.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years PQE in Court of Protection property & affairs work, including experience of setting up and running PI trusts.
  • Experience of making applications for statutory wills, gifts, etc.
  • Strong empathetic interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a range of people with disabilities, their families, and care teams, as well as other legal professionals.
  • High degree of professionalism, pride in work, and commitment to achieving clients' goals.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to lead and manage a growing team in line with company budgets and departments KPIs.
