Senior Planning Engineer

Location: Glasgow / Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Employment Type: Permanent - £50K - £65K (Depending on experience)

Contract Rate: £400 - £475 per day (Inside IR35)

Opportunity Overview:

Infraspec is seeking a skilled Senior Planning Engineer to contribute to a major defence infrastructure initiative. This position offers a flexible working arrangement, allowing candidates to choose between contract and permanent employment options. Candidates must possess the ability to obtain SC level security clearance or hold a valid UK passport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and oversee project timelines, ensuring effective coordination of work packages, monitoring progress, and managing resources efficiently.
  • Supervise collaboration with subcontractors, including the assessment and endorsement of their schedules.
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify and communicate progress, alterations, risks, and potential opportunities.
  • Assist in proposal development by providing manhour estimates and planning insights.
  • Generate precise and informative reports on project metrics, including critical path analysis, for the Defence Infrastructure Lead Team.

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Strong capabilities in MS Office, particularly Excel and Project.
  • Self-driven with the ability to meet deadlines independently.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of delivering clear and concise updates on project status, critical path risks, and metrics.
  • Confidently engage with subcontractors and critically evaluate their submissions.
  • Experience in project planning under NEC4 Contracts (notably Option A and Option C) is crucial.
  • A background in large-scale infrastructure design and construction projects is highly advantageous.
  • Experience within the nuclear or defence sectors is also highly desirable.
  • Candidates must be UK nationals and eligible for Security Clearance.
