Overview:

This is a remarkable opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking Teaching Practice that has successfully adapted to the evolving landscape of General Practice.

With a strong commitment to enhancing their Medical Student education, the practice is seeking an additional Salaried GP to mentor 3rd and primarily 5th-year medical students. Candidates with prior experience in student education are preferred, but those with a passion for teaching are also encouraged to apply.

The practice offers 15-minute appointment slots and a collaborative approach to same-day patient care, eliminating the need for an on-call GP and the associated Duty Doctor responsibilities.

Your schedule will include a blend of pre-booked, same-day, and follow-up appointments, allowing for flexibility based on daily needs. Initially, you will have supervision and tutorials integrated into your clinics, transitioning to dedicated teaching sessions over time. With no Duty Doctor obligations, you will not be required to remain on-site past 6:30 PM, providing a flexible work environment that accommodates personal commitments.

Compensation: Up to £13,500 per session, contingent on the level of responsibilities (e.g., teaching only or taking on Teaching Lead duties).

Your Responsibilities:

  • Position as a Salaried GP with a focus on Medical Student Teaching
  • Commitment of 4 or more sessions per week
  • Manage 14 patients per session (adjustments can be made for fewer contacts, affecting sessional rate)
  • Conduct 15-minute appointments
  • Flexible start and finish times to structure your day as needed
  • Engage with a diverse patient demographic, including areas of both deprivation and affluence
