Quarriers is seeking a Lead Culinary Specialist for our innovative William Quarriers Scottish Epilepsy Centre (WQSEC) located in Govan. If you thrive on variety and culinary creativity, this position is ideal for you.

Position Overview

We are in search of a part-time Lead Culinary Specialist who will oversee and deliver imaginative meals daily for patients and staff at WQSEC. You will bring your culinary expertise to an environment where individuals undergo life-changing assessments for epilepsy and treatment outcomes.

As the Lead Culinary Specialist , you will be instrumental in crafting nutritious, customized meals that cater to specific dietary requirements, ensuring each individual enjoys a positive dining experience. Your responsibilities will include managing catering supplies, conducting audits, and having the opportunity to creatively design menus that leave patients feeling satisfied. Additionally, you will oversee kitchen inventory, mentor catering staff, collaborate with the development manager on corporate events, and guarantee that customer service is maintained at the highest level.

Work Schedule: This is a part-time role requiring 3 days of work within a 7-day period. Working hours will be from 10 am to 6 pm. Flexibility is essential, as you will be expected to cover for team members during annual leave and assist with planned corporate events to support the broader catering service and provide appetizing meals to those utilizing the centre's conference facilities.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Creativity and a deep understanding of food to design and cater to individual dietary needs. A valid food hygiene certificate, along with knowledge of Health & Safety and Infection Control. Prior experience in mentoring and supporting staff. Skills and experience in a similar role or at least 2 years of relevant experience in a comparable setting focused on cooking and meal preparation. Awareness of Environmental Health Standards. Reliability and flexibility. Strong communication and organizational abilities.
