KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Formulate strategies to integrate livelihood-related initiatives during the planning and execution of project activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive baseline assessments alongside project teams and local partners to identify community needs, prioritize actions, and develop plans.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and community members to establish inclusive beneficiary selection criteria and identify direct beneficiaries for various response initiatives.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of the livelihood components of the project in accordance with donor and local government agreements.
  • Provide expert guidance to local authorities and communities to enhance their planning and implementation capabilities.
  • Facilitate regular planning and review sessions with project staff and local partners, documenting lessons learned and providing feedback to management.
  • In conjunction with project staff and partners, establish quality standards and monitor project performance accordingly.
  • Conduct frequent supervision and work closely with field staff on-site.
  • Ensure timely mobilization and appropriate utilization of allocated resources at project sites.
  • Guarantee that food resources are distributed to eligible and needy community members, maintaining required quality and quantity.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and control plans for monitoring project implementation.
  • Develop bi-weekly and monthly work plans for project implementation.
  • Supervise project execution, adhering to established procedures for material distribution to affected areas.
  • Offer technical advice, training, and support to distribution agents and community members to ensure timely execution of activities.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with local officials, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about sector developments, including best practices, and pursue ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Prepare regular project progress updates at the county level and engage with local partners.
  • Represent the organization at county and community levels, participating in relevant clusters and meetings as required.
  • Ensure that work plans are closely aligned with the regularly updated project work plan to guide implementation and track progress.
  • Collaborate with project staff and local government to develop action plans for monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on project activities.
  • Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, intermediate, and final reports to the supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent in agriculture, livelihoods, natural resource management, disaster risk reduction, food security, or related fields.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the agriculture sector, with at least three years in local or international NGOs or government roles.
  • Experience in implementing similar projects or programs focused on livelihood-based emergency responses and community-level savings and credit initiatives.
  • Understanding of project implementation techniques, participatory planning, and monitoring practices.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently while effectively coordinating with a team.
  • Proven ability to manage change, achieve results, ensure quality, and build team capacity.
  • Ability to work under pressure as part of a professional team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity and negotiation abilities.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, along with proficiency in MS Office and internet applications.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations as necessary.
