  • Formulate strategies to integrate livelihood-related initiatives throughout the development and execution of project plans.
  • Conduct baseline assessments in collaboration with project teams and local partners to identify needs, prioritize actions, and plan accordingly.
  • Engage with local authorities and target communities to establish participatory criteria for beneficiary selection and identify direct beneficiaries for various response types.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of the livelihood component of the project in accordance with approved agreements from donors and local government.
  • Provide technical assistance to local authorities and target communities to enhance their planning and implementation capabilities.
  • Facilitate regular planning and review meetings with project staff and local partners, documenting lessons learned and providing feedback to relevant coordinators.
  • Collaborate with project staff and partners to establish quality standards and action plans, monitoring performance against these benchmarks.
  • Conduct regular supervision and work closely with field staff on-site.
  • Ensure timely mobilization and appropriate utilization of allocated resources on-site.
  • Guarantee that the organization's food resources are distributed to the appropriate and needy participants in the community, maintaining required quantity and quality.
  • Maintain accurate records, documents, and control plans for monitoring project implementation.
  • Develop bi-weekly and monthly work plans for implementation.
  • Supervise project execution, adhering to established procedures for material deployment to affected areas.
  • Offer technical guidance, training, and support to distribution agents and communities to ensure timely execution of activities.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with local officials, community institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about developments in the sector, including best practices, and ensure ongoing personal development and learning.
  • Prepare regular project progress updates at the county level and engage with local partners at various administrative levels.
  • Represent the organization at county and local levels, participating in relevant clusters and forums as required.
  • Ensure that work plans are closely aligned with the regularly updated project work plan, guiding implementation and progress towards completion.
  • Collaborate with project staff and local government to prepare action plans for monitoring, review, and periodic reporting.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, intermediate, and final reports for submission to supervisors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent in agriculture, livelihoods, natural resource management, disaster risk reduction, food security, or emergency livelihood interventions.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the agriculture sector, including experience with local or international NGOs or government.
  • Experience in implementing similar projects or programs focused on livelihood-based emergency responses in agriculture and village-level savings and credit activities.
  • Understanding of project implementation techniques, participatory planning, and monitoring practices.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while effectively coordinating with a team.
  • Proven ability to manage change, achieve results, ensure quality, and build team capacity.
  • Ability to work under pressure as part of a professional team.
