Role: Pre-Construction Operations Leader

Your New Role

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with planners, bid managers, building service managers, estimators, and design managers to deliver effective and innovative solutions.
  • Support the organization in meeting its financial and operational objectives through the preparation, submission, and management of tenders.
  • Develop technical and quality documentation for tender submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with the Robertson Management System (RMS) Bid Management Procedures as established by the Board.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of tender solutions from a commercial and contractual standpoint, identifying and qualifying associated risks.
  • Represent the pre-construction function in meetings as required.
  • Manage operational risks within tenders and provide leadership to the pre-construction team in proactively identifying and addressing risks.
  • Work closely with the regional management team, demonstrating strategic thinking in addressing pre-construction challenges.
  • Foster relationships with the supply chain to ensure the feasibility of tender submissions.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the construction community by participating in relevant meetings and events.
  • Develop temporary works solutions as necessary for each tender.
  • Provide operational insights for the development of cost books detailing operational requirements and staffing levels.

What You Will Need:

  • Professionally qualified with CIOB/RICS.
  • Experience in civil engineering and construction, complemented by a relevant academic background.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Proficient in IT and numeracy.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate operational risks while formulating successful project strategies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of technical challenges and solutions.
  • Proactive approach, collaborating with operational and commercial teams to meet client expectations, identify margin opportunities, and manage risks effectively.
