About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Pre Construction Manager to join our team at Robertson Group. As a key member of our pre-construction team, you will be responsible for managing the pre-construction activities for our projects, including providing line management function for pre-construction staff, preparing tender price and submission documents for bids, and preparing budget costs for projects at feasibility stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the pre-construction activities for our projects, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and submitted on time.
- Provide line management function for pre-construction staff, including training and development.
- Prepare tender price and submission documents for bids, ensuring that all necessary information is included and that the bid is presented in a clear and concise manner.
- Prepare budget costs for projects at feasibility stage, taking into account all relevant factors, including construction costs, labor costs, and materials costs.
- Monitor and manage tender correspondence/documents/drawings, ensuring that all necessary information is received and that the tender process is completed efficiently.
- Carry out cost/value investigations in conjunction with Tender Team, to identify areas for cost savings and value engineering.
- Understand construction programmes and their implications on costs and bid, ensuring that all necessary information is taken into account when preparing tender submissions.
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities associated with tenders, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Identify value engineering to maximise commercial returns to the business, ensuring that all necessary information is taken into account when preparing tender submissions.
- Attend external and internal meetings and interviews, representing the company and providing information as required.
- Manage Bid Winning Workshops, ensuring that all necessary information is presented and that the workshop is conducted efficiently.
- Manage Risk and Opportunity Workshops, ensuring that all necessary information is presented and that the workshop is conducted efficiently.
- Prepare Answer Planning and execute in accordance with company procedures, ensuring that all necessary information is taken into account when preparing tender submissions.
- Prepare Capture Plans to support a winning bid, ensuring that all necessary information is taken into account and that the plan is presented in a clear and concise manner.
- Ensure that the supply chain is considered to satisfy the requirements of the project, ensuring that all necessary information is taken into account when preparing tender submissions.
- Review the commercial and contractual aspects of the supply chain tenders and ensure that all necessary information is taken into account when preparing tender submissions.
- Utilise and develop the Robertson supply chain database, ensuring that all necessary information is up-to-date and that the database is used efficiently.
Requirements
- Sound knowledge of Public Procurement and how to score highly in Quality.
- Strong Bid Writing Skills.
- Management Experience.
- Complimentary relevant industrial experience with a construction related academic qualification.
- Commercially astute.
- IT literate and numerate.
- Able to identify and assess commercial risk and develop winning strategies for projects.
- Sound knowledge of technical, contractual and procurement techniques.
