Job Description

Software Support Consultant

Proactive People is seeking a highly skilled Software Support Consultant to join our team. As a Software Support Consultant, you will be responsible for providing technical support and consultancy services to our European customer base.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and a good understanding of ERP systems and Business Intelligence tools. You will be responsible for managing full life cycle Business Intelligence and reporting projects, including design, planning, building, testing, documentation, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and consultancy services to customers via phone, email, and remote access.
  • Assist customers with software installations and configurations on various supported platforms.
  • Manage full life cycle Business Intelligence and reporting projects.
  • Prepare for and/or conduct training classes.
  • Prepare training materials and quick reference guides.
  • Provide sales representatives with pre-sales support and perform technical demonstrations.
  • Attend trade organization events to promote our products and services.
  • Travel will be required, including limited international travel.

Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff.
  • Knowledge of current supported hardware and software platforms in one or more operating systems.
  • Troubleshooting proficiency with relational database connectivity issues.
  • Good knowledge of relational databases and data dictionary concepts.
  • Experience of ERP software, systems, and solutions.
  • Experience in developing reports using a Business Intelligence tool or reporting using a programming language.
  • Background in software development.
  • A relevant computer science degree.
