Digital Preservation Specialist

Cambridge University Libraries are embarking on a pioneering five-year Digital Preservation Programme to establish a new Digital Preservation Service.
The Programme aims to deliver the foundations for the management of digital collections, ensuring current and future readers can access and use materials of cultural and historic importance and of global significance.
The Digital Preservation Service will support digital collection materials from acquisition or creation through to access and use, ensuring ongoing access to digital materials.
About the Role:
The Technical Analyst will be part of the Digital Preservation team, working with colleagues across the Library to establish services for digital collection materials.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding the risks and vulnerabilities of data and digital technologies.
- Conceptual understanding of key challenges of digital preservation or relevant discipline.
- Strong knowledge of digital formats and metadata.
- Engaging with stakeholders and working as part of a team to achieve common goals.
What You Will Need:
The successful candidate will have a wide-ranging technical skillset, including knowledge of digital preservation, digital formats, and metadata.
