Position Overview

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the final assessment of intricate sheet metal components during high-volume production. This position involves supporting both innovative and established products while addressing the overall objectives of the team. Flexibility for shift work and occasional overtime will be necessary. Comprehensive training and guidance will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards and protocols.
  • Follow route cards, operational instructions, and technical drawings.
  • Validate Quality Assured Products through:
    • Completion and stamping of Works Orders.
    • Visual inspections to confirm adherence to product specifications.
    • Material traceability and serialization as needed.
    • Management of Issue and Build Standard (Version) control.
    • Assurance of quality compliance, including FAI coverage, concessions, permits, and release gateways.
    • Fulfillment of quality requirements and closure of Quality Notifications.
    • Conduct gateway inspections for quality checklists and any additional alerts.
    • Utilize basic measurement techniques and hand gauging.
  • Clean and protect parts as necessary.
  • Report any non-conformities and collaborate with quality assurance to address issues.
  • Complete documentation and system transactions for finished work prior to shipment.
  • Manage and maintain stock control systems as appropriate.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to assist the operational team.
  • Engage in general team activities, including continuous improvement and 5S initiatives.
  • Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, machining, and quality inspection.
  • Detail-oriented and conscientious work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently in a medium-volume production setting.

  • Capable of supporting technical discussions related to welding processes.
  • Strong focus on quality assurance.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across various departments.

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ or City and Guilds in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in assembly and inspection (preferred).
  • Completion of an apprenticeship (preferred).
