Final Quality Assurance Inspector

Overview:
The ideal candidate will take charge of the final assessment of intricate sheet metal components during peak production periods. This position will involve supporting both new and existing products while contributing to the overall objectives of the team. Flexibility in working hours and potential overtime may be necessary. Comprehensive training and assistance will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with established quality protocols and standards.
- Follow route cards, work instructions, and technical drawings.
- Conduct verification of Quality Assured Products, including:
- Completion and stamping of Works Orders.
- Visual inspections to confirm adherence to product specifications.
- Material traceability and serialization as required.
- Control of Issue and Build Standards (Version).
- Ensure quality compliance, including First Article Inspection (FAI) coverage, concessions, permits, and release gateways.
- Fulfill quality requirements and close Quality Notifications (QNs).
- Perform gateway inspections for quality checklists and additional alerts.
- Utilize basic measurement techniques and hand gauging.
- Clean and protect parts as necessary.
- Report any non-conformances and collaborate with quality assurance to resolve issues.
- Complete documentation and system transactions for finished work prior to dispatch.
- Manage and maintain stock control systems as needed.
- Perform other duties as required to assist the operational team.
- Engage in general team activities, including continuous improvement and 5S initiatives.
- Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication, machining, and quality inspection.
- Detail-oriented and conscientious.
- Ability to work independently in a medium-volume production setting.
Personal Attributes:
- Highly motivated, adaptable, responsive to change, and able to maintain composure under pressure.
- Capable of supporting technical discussions related to welding.
- Focused on quality assurance.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across various departments.
Essential Skills:
- Level 3 NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in a relevant field.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in assembly and inspection is preferred.
- Completion of an apprenticeship is advantageous.
