Role Overview

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide maintenance services for airport assets in a manner that is both safe and cost-effective, ensuring that quality standards are met and customer expectations are exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled or emergency maintenance on engineering assets to ensure optimal functionality, adhering to agreed service levels and creating a seamless operational environment. This includes inspecting malfunctioning assets, evaluating necessary repairs, and executing those repairs.
  • Conduct maintenance diagnostics and troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, and electronic assets associated with airport operations.
  • Execute maintenance tasks beyond core competencies as required.
  • Utilize AGS Airports IT and work management systems (e.g., FSI) as necessary, including receiving and closing work orders and entering precise data. Analyze maintenance system data to assess individual, team, and asset performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and engineering tasks in compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Foster a safe working environment for oneself and others by adhering to safety regulations and contributing to a culture of safety through active participation in safety management systems.
  • Engage proactively in initiatives aimed at enhancing performance within the engineering domain.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding the status of maintenance tasks.
  • Mentor colleagues or apprentices on a one-on-one basis to facilitate their learning and development.
  • Continuously upgrade skills to support the maintenance and operation of newly introduced assets, ensuring they are maintained to optimal performance standards.
  • Participate in risk assessments and utilize method statements to ensure all maintenance tasks are performed safely and meet required specifications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues or trainees to broaden the skill set and knowledge base of the entire workforce, ensuring exceptional customer service delivery.
  • Work alongside the Security Management Team to promote adherence to the Security Management System (SeMs) culture within the department and across the airport campus, emphasizing compliance with the AGS Airports Security Policy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of a recognized Engineering Apprenticeship in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, or Building Services disciplines.

Framework and Boundaries

  • Promote the development and efficient operation of the AGS Airports maintenance processes.
  • Work within a broad spectrum of local business and external policies, procedures, and regulations while performing duties.
  • Ensure maintenance of assets aligns with standards outlined in Service Level Agreements and meets Key Performance Indicators.
  • Monitor the quality of work performed by contract maintenance providers as necessary.
