About the Role

Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking - SGCIB is a leading financial institution with a rich history of innovation and expertise in the financial markets. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Precious Metals Market Maker.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the precious metals market, including market trends, competitors, and clients.
  • Collaborate with the FX quant, e-trader, e-sales, and developer teams to develop and implement market-making strategies for precious metals.
  • Participate in the development of IT tools and systems to enhance trading efficiency, including automation, pricing engines, and analytical tools.
  • Manage and monitor the electronic book, including intraday and overnight risk, and ensure adherence to relevant trading limits and risk management.
  • Analyze liquidity providers and client impact, and participate in client calls to promote e-Precious Metals and FX Spot franchises.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, including market participants, and provide reliable backup and support as required.
  • Collaborate with sales, GLFI, syndicate, research, compliance, middle/back office, IT, and engineering teams to ensure seamless execution and risk management.
Requirements
  • Market knowledge and experience in investment banking/financial services industry.
  • Sound numerical and literacy skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player, proactively shares information and collaborates with others.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and entrepreneurial.
  • Reliable professional conduct.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be responsible for following matters through to completion.
  • Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for numbers with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to develop relationships based on trust and professionalism.
  • Language requirements: English is the business language for SG.
  • Minimum level of study: graduate.
