**Job Description**

We are working with a prominent commodity trading house based in London, seeking an experienced Precious Metals Operations Manager to lead the development of their new precious metals business.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Lead the operations project for establishing and developing the new precious metals business, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
  • Design and implement new business practices, controls, and systems for the precious metals business, leveraging industry expertise and best practices.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the precious metals operations and logistics team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Oversee and train new staff, including internal transfers from other parts of the business, to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the base metals team, fostering collaboration and integration between teams to drive business growth.
  • Report to the Global Head of Operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

**Key Qualifications and Experience:**

  • Demonstrable operations and logistics experience within the metals space, specifically handling precious metals, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team, including the development and training of new team members, with a focus on talent development and retention.
  • Strong understanding of the physical delivery of products, integration of metals accounts, vault setup and maintenance, security, and physical movements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience dealing with stakeholders and senior leadership, implementing new ideas and business changes, with a focus on driving business growth and improvement.
  • Located in the UK with the right to work.
