Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the department's operations to meet Spire's performance metrics, ensuring safe and efficient service delivery.
  • Provide leadership and management for the in-patient services team, including recruitment, onboarding, mandatory training, and performance evaluations. Ensure all staff records are meticulously maintained and up to date.
  • Address and manage patient complaints and feedback in accordance with Spire's policies.
  • Implement effective inventory management systems that align with financial guidelines, ensuring optimal stock levels and compliance through collaboration with the Finance Manager.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of departmental performance, implementing action plans based on findings.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Team to enhance service offerings and achieve targets, including attracting Consultants.
  • Foster strong relationships with external organizations to promote standardization and the sharing of best practices.
  • Integrate Clinical Governance and risk management into daily operations.
  • Perform any additional duties that fall within the general scope of the role.

Candidate Profile

  • Registered Nurse with an active NMC pin.
  • Experience in an acute care setting.
  • Proven track record as a Clinical Manager, preferably in a busy surgical ward.
  • Possess a broad skill set supported by professional and clinical knowledge gained through state registration and ongoing training.
  • Experience in a similar private healthcare environment is advantageous.
  • Prior experience at the Ward Manager level is essential for immediate contribution.

Employment Details

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
